What are Citizens’ Assemblies?

A democratic innovation bringing everyday people into the heart of decision-making.

We use a lottery to democratically select a representative group from the community. They spend time learning from experts and from one another before offering practical recommendations to policymakers.

Freed from partisanship and rushed debate, they replace polarization with perspective and show how, given time and trust, people can reach legitimate and lasting decision
